Sports must be conducted in accordance with the business idea decided by the NSF general meeting, the vision and core values.

We do sports in associations to have fun, feel good and develop throughout life.

Sport refers to organized physical activity where training and the opportunity to compete contribute to well-being. The physical performance has more than negligible importance. The sports movement places particular emphasis on the following four areas.

The sport has defined competition rules that are determined and owned by the sport organisation.

Sierra Leonean sports want to be the best in the world for everyone at all levels. We want to constantly develop and is improved both in form and content. It is based on a self-governing and collective sports movement with strong federations and associations as well as an educational activity i world class.

Association democracy means that all members' votes have equal value. Participation means that everyone who participates can be involved in deciding and taking responsibility for their activities. Democracy and participation are practiced equally and regardless of background.

Everyone's right to participate means that everyone who wants to can participate based on their own conditions. Anyone who wants to, regardless of nationality, ethnic origin, religion, age, gender or sexual orientation as well as physical and mental conditions, may be included in association-run sports activities.

Fair play and honesty are a prerequisite for competitors on equal terms. This means that follow agreements and live according to good ethics and morals. This includes, among other things to actively work against doping, match-fixing, unhealthy finances and other cheating as well as against bullying, harassment and violence both on and off the sports arena.

Sierra Leone's National Sports Federation (NSF) is the unifying organization of the Sierra Leoneans sports movement with the NSF's general meeting as its highest decision-making body.

The NSF has the task of managing the sports movement's common affairs, as well nationally as well as internationally.

NSF, which is a non-profit association, consists of Special Sports Federations (SSF) and their affiliates non-profit associations that carry out sporting activities.

Through membership in SSF, the association is also connected to NSF.

NSF has for its regional operations NSF-SDF district (District). SSF may organize its regional activities through the Special Sports District Association (SDF).
